September 20, 2010

Sorry I haven't written in so long! Things have been crazy!! Today was my first day of community college. I'm taking English 101, Psychology 100, and Chemistry 121. The first two are online courses, and I'm pretty sure they will be a challenge for me. Week 1 assignments are a pretty big workload, I'm going to have to learn to manage my time better.

Work is great, family is good. I gave Clementine some change from my purse to put in her piggy bank yesterday. We are sitting in her room putting the money in her bank when she says "Wait Auntie Emmy-O, leave some quarters out." I asked why and her response was: "If my mommy and daddy don't have enough money, I will give them some of my quarters." SHE IS AMAZING I TELL YOU!

Sorry this is so short, but I've got to get to bed. Working at 6:30am every day this week and I have Chemistry from 5-7pm 3 days a week. Should be interesting. Wish me luck!

June 24, 2010

Work has been going VERY well lately. I really enjoy where I am working and the people I am working with! My RN Heidi is so great (: She's so supportive and helpful, and we actually have a lot in common with each other. I really love working with her.
Everyone at work is so nice to me and willing to help me!

Tuesday I witnessed a beautiful baby girl come into this world. It was the most amazing thing I have EVER seen. It was so surreal, just this little grayish baby head was coming out of a person!! They suctioned her nose and mouth, mom pushed 2 more times and she came out! I heard her first little cry (I was holding back tears.) They had her in the little warmer and the nurse asked me if I wanted to listen to her heart and lungs, so I did! I put my finger by her tiny hand and she grabbed my finger. She was so beautiful. Before I went down to see it, I thought I would think it was gross and I was scared I would pass out. But honestly, it is the most beautiful, amazing thing I have ever witnessed. It made me want to have a baby!! Obviously not for a few years, but you know what I mean.

I was at my mom and dads the other day and Clementine & Henry were there. When I was getting ready to leave, I gave Clementine and hug and kiss, and then I gave Henry one. When I turned to leave, Henry started crying! I went back and gave him another hug (he stopped) and then I went to leave again and he started crying again!! HE WAS SAD THAT HIS AUNTIE EMMY-O WAS LEAVING!!!! I was happy! Not because he was sad, but because I now know that he loves me! It made me very happy (:

Anywho, I am going to go to bed now. We have a very big day tomorrow (GOING TO THE ZOO!!!!!!!!!!!!) I am so flippin' excited I can't even wait!!!!!!!

June 15, 2010

My first day of work at Providence OB/GYN was yesterday.Yesterday was fun, I worked with an MA named Amy and she showed me the ropes. (: It was pretty funny because I sat in between a Mary Ann (which is my mom's name) and an Amy (which is my sister's name!) Amy taught me how to do fetal heart tones, which is so amazing to hear. Everytime I heard a baby heart beat yesterday I got the biggest grin on my face! It's amazing!! My boss took me on a field trip to the Colby campus and showed me around. She's very nice and easy to talk to. I just love her British accent! Haha!

I went to my mom's yesterday to see Clementine & Henry! Henry is so cuddly, you can just tell he loves his Auntie Emmy-o! I bought Clementine the cutest outfit, it's a purple tank top with orange and purple shorts. I gave it to her and she put it on right away!

Today was good! I got to meet the Doc I'm working for. His name is Dr. Sundwall and he's very nice! He reminds me so much of my friend Noemi's dad its crazy! I got to see 2 ultrasounds today, which is fun too! It's amazing to see such a tiny fetus (14 weeks) sucking its thumb! It was so awesome!! I pretty much worked on my own today, his old MA Kathy was there to answer questions. My new office is on the same EMR as Palouse Medical, so it's GREAT! They just transitioned to it in March, so people are asking ME, the new girl for help with it! (:

May 10, 2010

It's been a fun weekend! My last day at Palouse Medical was on Friday. Let me tell you, it was a sad day. I was so overwhelmed by everyone's kindness. I received cards, gifts, and even root beer floats. It was touching to see how much I am going to be missed by my amazing co-workers. I honestly miss each and every one of them. *tear, tear.*

Saturday, we moved! My dad, my brother in law Matt, and Matt's dad Pete left Everett at 4am, and drove to Pullman. They arrived in Pullman around 10:30am, we loaded up the truck, put Old Man (my car) on the trailer, and headed for Everett. We stopped in Colfax to eat lunch and saw the cutest little piggies in the back of a truck!!

I really wanted to take him home, but Mike and Dad said no :( Anyway, we got to Everett around 6, unpacked, and now we're here! Mike's parents Mark and Suzanne are being so generous and are letting us live at their house for the next few months. So here we are!

Our main goal at the moment is to both find jobs. I have an interview in Seattle this Thursday, and then another on the 25th in Everett. I hope I get the Everett one, because the commute to Seattle would NOT be fun!!

Secondly, we are going to enroll in school! Mike only needs about 4 more classes, and he'll have his AA degree. As for me? I'm enrolling in pre-reqs for nursing school! I love working as Medical Assistant, but I would prefer to go to school for a little longer and get paid as an RN (since I basically do the same things now, just get paid less!)

Mike & I joined the gym! We signed up at LA fitness. Time to get in shape! I worked out today for 30 minutes on the elliptical machine and my legs feel like jello! It'll take me awhile to work up to what I want, but it's gonna be worth it!!!

Tiffany told me to start a blog... So, where should I start?

Mike and I moved back from Pullman on May 8th. Well, maybe that's where I should start... Mike and I spent the last year in Pullman. He was previously a student at WSU, so we signed a lease and then he decided he didn't want to go there anymore... I'm really happy we decided to live there though. I worked at Palouse Medical, where I met the most wonderful people. I really miss them!! I made amazing friends that I honestly believe I will keep in touch with forever.

Life at home has been very different. Mike's parents are letting us live with them while we save some money. I am so thankful for them!! I recently accepted a job offer at an OB/GYN office, and I have a feeling I'm going to love it. I start on Monday! I'll be working 4 10 hour shifts, so that'll take some getting used to!

It has been so wonderful getting to see my parents, sisters, and niece & nephew whenever I want to! I missed them SO much. Henry is growing like a weed, and it just makes my heart happy when I see his big grin! (: The other day Clementine said "Auntie Emmy-O, I wish I lived with you." I said "Why?" and she replied "Because I really miss you when you're gone." It was so sweet!

I went to the dentist for the first time in 2 years... People floss your teeth!!!!! I have an embarrassing amount of cavities, and I brush my teeth like crazy. I have been to the dentist 2 times this week, and have to go back tomorrow. I can barely open my mouth and it's not fun!!! But, I really like my dentist. The first thing he said to me when I went for my cleaning was "Where ya been, Princess??" (:
Well, I guess that's it for now! I will try to update this as much as possible, but I'm not going to promise anything!!

Goodnight!
